Who we are and how to contact us

Yoko Matcha LLC operates yokomatcha.com. This policy explains how we collect, use and disclose personal information when you browse our website, buy our products, subscribe to updates or contact us.

For privacy questions, requests or complaints, email contact@yokomatcha.com or write to Yoko Matcha LLC, 800 West Avenue, Miami Beach, FL 33139, United States.

Information we collect

The information we collect depends on how you interact with us:

  • Contact and account information: your name, email, phone number, delivery and billing addresses, and information needed to manage your customer account.
  • Purchase information: products ordered, order history, payment status, delivery details, returns and subscription details. Payment providers process payment credentials to complete transactions.
  • Device and browsing information: IP address, browser and device details, approximate location derived from your IP address, referring pages, products viewed, interactions with our website and ads, and cookie or similar identifiers.
  • Communications and preferences: messages and attachments you choose to send to customer support, wholesale inquiries, marketing subscriptions, and privacy choices.
  • Content you submit: reviews or other material you choose to make public. Public submissions can be viewed by others.

We receive information from you, automatically through our website and communications, and from providers that support transactions, delivery, analytics and advertising. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information through ordinary website messages.

How we use information

We use information to process orders and subscriptions, take payments, deliver products, manage accounts, respond to inquiries, handle returns and maintain transaction records. We also use it to protect the store from fraud and misuse, understand website performance, improve the shopping experience, and measure marketing.

We send promotional communications and provide personalized advertising where permitted and consistent with your choices. Marketing messages and tracking choices are separate from messages needed to service an order or account.

Who receives information

We disclose information to providers that support our business, including Shopify for our store and checkout, payment providers, delivery and fulfillment providers, customer-support and communications providers, and analytics and advertising partners. These recipients receive information relevant to the services they provide or the purposes described here. For example, our communications services include Klaviyo, and our analytics and advertising services include Google and Meta.

Advertising disclosures can include online identifiers, contact identifiers used for audience matching, browsing activity and purchase-related events. Those disclosures may constitute a sale, sharing or targeted advertising under applicable privacy laws. Your opt-out choices are described below.

We may also disclose information when you ask us to, to comply with law or a valid legal request, protect legal rights or safety, investigate fraud, or in connection with a business transfer subject to applicable safeguards.

Shopify and connected shopping services

Our store is hosted on Shopify. Shopify processes personal information to operate the store and provide services, including services informed by your interactions with our store, other merchants and Shopify. Information is shared with Shopify and service providers in other countries for these purposes. Shopify also has responsibilities for certain processing it performs. Read Shopify’s Consumer Privacy Policy at https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy/consumers and manage applicable Shopify choices at https://privacy.shopify.com.

Cookies and your privacy choices

Essential technologies support functions such as the cart, account access, checkout, security and remembering privacy choices. Other technologies support preferences, analytics, personalized experiences and advertising. Cookie durations vary; session cookies end with a browsing session and persistent cookies remain until expiry or deletion. Shopify’s current cookie information is available at https://www.shopify.com/legal/cookies.

Where consent is required, we ask before using non-essential cookies and similar technologies. Use Cookie preferences in the website footer to review or change the available choices. You can also manage cookies in your browser; blocking essential cookies can affect shopping functions.

To opt out of sale or sharing of personal information or targeted advertising where available, use Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information in our footer or visit https://yokomatcha.com/pages/data-sharing-opt-out. You can also contact contact@yokomatcha.com. You do not need to create an account to make an opt-out request.

Where applicable, we recognize Global Privacy Control as a request to opt out of sale, sharing and targeted advertising for the browser and device sending the signal. A choice made in one browser may not apply to another browser or device. Clearing cookies can remove a saved choice, so you may need to set it again. You may still see advertising after opting out; the choice limits the relevant use of your information.

Global Privacy Control is different from the older Do Not Track browser setting. We do not treat a Do Not Track signal alone as an instruction to change tracking practices. Use our privacy controls or Global Privacy Control for the choices described here.

Marketing messages and signup offers

You can unsubscribe from promotional emails using the link in each message or by contacting us. Unsubscribing does not stop necessary order, account or subscription-service messages. If we offer a signup discount, its amount, eligibility and redemption conditions are the terms presented with that offer. Joining a mailing list does not itself authorize sale or sharing of information or replace cookie consent.

Your privacy rights

Depending on your location and the applicable law, you may have rights to know or access the personal information we hold, receive a portable copy, correct inaccuracies, request deletion, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, or opt out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising. Rights and exceptions vary. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

Submit a request to contact@yokomatcha.com. For access, correction or deletion, we may request information reasonably needed to verify the request and protect your information. Opt-out requests do not require an account or identity verification beyond information necessary to apply your choice. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted; we may ask for evidence of the agent’s authority as allowed by law.

If we deny a request, you can ask us to review the decision by replying to our response. You may also complain to the relevant privacy regulator. California information is available at https://oag.ca.gov/privacy/ccpa; UK information at https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/; EEA authority contacts at https://www.edpb.europa.eu/about-edpb/about-edpb/members_en.

Retention, security and international processing

We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including fulfilling orders, maintaining accounts and subscriptions, handling support, meeting recordkeeping duties, preventing fraud and resolving disputes. Retention depends on the type of information, our relationship with you, applicable obligations and valid deletion requests; a deletion request can be subject to legal exceptions.

We use reasonable measures to protect personal information, but no system or transmission is completely secure. Our providers may process information outside your country, including in the United States and Canada. Where applicable law requires transfer safeguards, we use an appropriate lawful transfer mechanism.

If EEA or UK data-protection law applies, our processing relies, as appropriate, on fulfilling our contract with you, complying with legal obligations, consent for activities requiring it, or legitimate interests such as operating a secure store and providing customer support, subject to your rights. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing lawfully carried out before withdrawal. Automated tools may help screen transactions for fraud; contact us if you need us to review an order decision.

Children and changes to this policy

Our store is intended for a general audience, not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 or knowingly sell or share personal information about children under 16. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

We update this policy when our practices or requirements change. We will post the revised policy, update its date and provide additional notice where required.
